Holding fast to the principle of self-reliance provides a guarantee for firmly defending Juche-type socialism and successfully building an economic power.

The struggle which has been waged to defend socialism for the last several decades clearly proves the validity and vitality of the line of the Workers' Party of Korea which has worked hard under the uplifted banner of self-reliance.

The DPRK has demonstrated the dignity and might as a producer and launcher of satellites and a full-fledged nuclear weapons state, which no enemy dares provoke, under the uplifted banner of independence.

A high-pitched drive for the industrial revolution in the new century is now under way in the DPRK, supported by the tremendous potential of the independent national economy, cutting-edge science and technology and rich resources.

The indomitable struggle being waged by the Korean people in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance, convinced of final victory, is unrolling a history of great changes on this land.

The article calls on all party members and other working people to steadfastly carry forward the history and tradition of the revolution which has made a triumphant advance, holding aloft the banner of self-reliance and thus eternally glorify Juche-type socialism.
