Rodong Sinmun Slams S. Korean Military's Repressive Campaign against Progressive Forces

Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- The south Korean military recently worked out a "standard teaching plan for the action against forces following the north" and ordered the puppet army to unconditionally use it for "brainwashing," vociferating about the "danger of the forces following the north." In this "teaching plan" the military labels the pro-reunification progressive forces among different circles in south Korea "an enemy", describing them as "malignant virus threatening security" and "enemy-benefiting forces following the north". Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard: This amounts to an open declaration of a war by the Lee Myung Bak regime against the pro-reunification progressive forces in south Korea. It is the first time since the Kwangju Popular Uprising that the military branded civilians as "an enemy", the commentary notes, adding: Through this action the puppet regime seeks to maximize hostility towards the progressive forces within the army in a bid to use officers and men as a hand-raising machine for realizing the stay of conservative group in power and unhesitatingly perpetrate even a monstrous massacre of those forces labeled "enemies" by use of troops in the worst case. All facts go to clearly prove that the Lee group is a ferocious horde of fascist gangsters that puts the erstwhile military dictatorial regime of south Korea into the shade. If this reckless campaign of the Lee group is left unchecked, south Korean society is bound to witness the return of the past era of military dictatorship when pro-reunification patriots and innocent people were massacred every day. The Korean nation will mercilessly punish the Lee group for running wild in escalating the confrontation with compatriots and cracking down upon people under the motto of "eliminating forces following the north". |
