The military's labeling of innocent people calling for independence, democracy and reunification "an enemy" cannot but be viewed as a prelude to the second Kwangju massacre.

As already known, the south Korean military fascists cracked down at the point of bayonet upon the citizens of Kwangju who turned out in a struggle for independence, democracy and reunification in May of 1980, turning the whole city into a sea of blood.

32 years since then the south Korean military again branded many civilians as "an enemy" in a desperate bid to quell their daily growing desire for independence, democracy and reunification.

Erstwhile military fascists were closeted with ultra-right conservative quarters at the Ministry of Defense over the issue of labeling the pro-reunification progressive organizations "forces following the north" and eliminating them.

The defense ministry sponsored seminars on the themes of "existence of forces following the north and countermeasures" and "recognition of existence of forces following the north" and such a "brainwashing" farce as contest of instructors for brainwashing. Heard from these ridiculous events were malignant remarks stoking extreme mistrust and hostility towards the reunification movement organizations.

At the "exams on actions against forces following the north" officers and men were obliged to pass them. Military gangsters, while supervising the exams, pressurized them to write answers that the pro-reunification democratic forces are the "north-following leftist forces" believing in the Juche idea and blindly following the idea of socialism.

The "standard teaching plan" reportedly signed by Minister of Defense Kim Kwan Jin labeled the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration, the Council for Promoting the Reunification of Our Nation by Federal Formula and seven other progressive organizations as "enemy-benefiting ones".

The authorities' labeling of innocent people desirous for the society's democracy and national reunification proved once again that they are a group of fascist gangs and traitors who put the former military dictatorial regime in the shade.
