The spirit displayed by the Korean people in the 1970's when they ushered in a heyday in the era of the Workers' Party of Korea, holding leader Kim Jong Il in high esteem, serves as a precious ideological and moral boon as it marked a watershed in the development of mental power of Kim Il Sung's nation, the editorial says, and goes on:

Officials and people in the 1970's created the noblest and greatest revolutionary spirit of the times, forming an integral whole with Kim Jong Il in thought, intention and kindred feelings.

They created the spirit of such profound reverence as firmly believing in and following Kim Jong Il who successfully carried forward the idea and cause of President Kim Il Sung, the indomitable spirit of dynamically exploring the path at dawn with strong fortitude and dynamism and the revolutionary spirit of speed campaign in which they dashed ahead like the wind, creating everything from nothing. This was the fighting spirit which prevailed in the 1970's.

Officials and other working people in the period of laying down the Party's foundation to carry forward the cause of Juche unconditionally carried out the WPK's instructions despite any hard conditions, true to their leader.

It was thanks to these reliable and loyal revolutionary soldiers of Kim Jong Il that a historic turn was brought about in the development of the WPK and a great heyday in the era of the WPK ushered in all fields of revolution and construction in the 1970's.

The high party spirit, honest personality, well-regulated work style and optimistic way of life fully displayed in the 1970's are examples to be followed by officials and other working people in the on-going general offensive, says the editorial.

It calls on all people to remain true to the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un and bring about great innovations and leap forward in the building of a thriving nation as required by the spirit in the 1970's.
