Stamp Issued to Commemorate Mother's Day

Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The State Stamp Bureau of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea issued a stamp in commemoration of the institution of Mother's Day in the country.

Depicted in the stamp is a mother with her child and seen in its upper part are letters reading "Mother's Day".

In May the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly promulgated a decree on instituting as Mother's Day November 16 when President Kim Il Sung made a historic speech "The Duty of Mothers In the Education of Children" at the First National Meeting of Mothers, which took place in Juche 50 (1961).
