U.S.-S. Korea Confab for Aggression Slashed

Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- Civic and social organizations including the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification held a press conference on October 26 to denounce the confab held by the U.S. and its south Korean puppets for a preemptive attack on the DPRK. The organizations noted at the press conference that the south Korean military authorities held an annual security consultative meeting with the U.S. on Oct. 24 at which a joint statement was issued. In the statement both sides made it clear that they agreed on the issue of creating a joint working group, an improvement of the existing master-servant system, the issue of establishing a new system for preemptive attack on the north's missiles, etc., they noted, and went on: The agreed formation of the joint working group is little short of setting up a new mechanism for keeping the "south Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command" as it is. The decision to set up a new combined command at a time when the U.S. forces wrested from south Korea an agreement on letting them exercise the right to command major operations in contingency on the peninsula is, in actuality, little short of annulling the "transfer of wartime operational control." And the agreement on establishing the system for a preemptive attack on the DPRK's missiles indicates that the recent announcement of the missile guidance agreement is aimed to secure a weapon system for carrying out the operation for invading it within the framework of the U.S. missile defense system. The outcome of the recent meeting is a product of the U.S. requirement for holding an unchallenged position in Northeast Asia and the service attitude of the Lee Myung Bak regime which regards its subservience to it as vital. |
