The appeal accused the south Korean "government" authorities of escalating confrontation with fellow countrymen and creating a war atmosphere while suppressing progressive political forces and pro-reunification organizations with "the presidential election" at hand.

It continued:

Lurking behind this campaign is a sinister aim to stir up confrontation and security concern under the pretext of "provocations from the north" with the election at hand and thus ensure their stay in power.

The appeal bitterly denounced the confrontation moves of the anti-reunification conservative forces to turn the West Sea of Korea into a theatre of war after labeling "enemy" the organizations and patriotic figures who took the lead in the struggle for independence, democracy and reunification, not content with stoking hostility and confrontation with compatriots.

It called for decisively foiling the moves of those forces to stamp out the pro-reunification movement organizations.

It also called for resolutely frustrating all the war moves of the anti-reunification bellicose forces threatening the destiny and security of the nation and their reckless operations to scatter leaflets that may spark a war.

It urged all Koreans to turn out in actions to get the "standard teaching plan" and "the Security Law" repealed as they block a free discussion on the reunification issue and activities of people of different circles and frantically incite confrontation of ideologies and the stand-off between fellow countrymen.

It underscored the need for all Koreans at home and abroad to get united close under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and October 4 declaration.

It called for resolutely foiling the plot of the anti-reunification ultra-right conservative forces to cook up "north wind" and "war wind" in a bid to use them for their "election" campaign.

It called upon all Koreans at home and abroad to pool efforts to decisively frustrate the noisy campaign of the Lee Myung Bak treacherous and confrontation forces at death's door for "eliminating the forces following the north" and igniting a war and keep the June 15 era of reunification alive.
