Ali Houdou, president of the party, said at the inaugural ceremony of the Socialist Party Committee of Benin to Remember Generalissimo Kim Jong Il in Cotonou on Oct. 26:

Generalissimo Kim Jong Il, eternal general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, performed the greatest and most shining feats for global independence and the socialist movement.

Every move of the imperialist reactionaries for domination was frustrated and the world socialist movement and the cause of independence against imperialism made a triumphant advance because Kim Jong Il wisely led it, holding aloft the banner of independence, the banner of socialism.

Not only the people of Benin but all other people of Africa pay highest tribute to Kim Jong Il who sincerely helped them in the building of a new society.

The vice-president of the party said the human cause of independence which has steadily advanced despite stern test of history would be unthinkable without the steersmanship of Kim Jong Il.

He praised Kim Jong Il as the most experienced political elder and peerlessly great man who steered the development of world politics and international relations.
