Rodong Sinmun Terms U.S. Source of Arms Race in Asia

Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- Arms race is rising with each passing day in Asia-Pacific, which is attributable to the U.S., says Rodong Sinmun in a bylined article Tuesday. In recent years the U.S. has styled itself a Pacific nation, which is aimed to create an environment for open intrusion into Asia-Pacific. It is upsetting the equilibrium of strength in the region. Artificial wreckage of the equilibrium of strength leads to a war. It has been proven in the past. Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq in the new century were ones among those countries that were not on an equal standing in terms of strength. The U.S. rallied its many allied nations to attack and occupy weak countries one by one. The U.S. is working harder to foster contradictions and conflicts among nations in the region. Meddling in the regional disputes, it is unilaterally defending one of the two, fanning up contradictions and conflicts among them. The moves of the U.S. that seeks ambitious hegemony and fortunes pose great menace to peace in the region. The DPRK will not remain a passive on-looker to the peace and security in the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia being threatened and wrecked by the U.S. Now that the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet regime more openly betray the intention to stifle the DPRK by force of arms, it will increase missile capabilities in every way to make a clean sweep of the strongholds for aggression. |
