Rodong Sinmun Exposes Japan's Acts to Exterminate Korean Nation

Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- The Japanese imperialists' moves to exterminate the Korean nation were the most hideous state-sponsored crimes, to all intents and purposes, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a bylined article. The article cites facts to prove that the Japanese imperialists hammered iron piles into famous mountains and strongholds in all parts of Korea in an attempt to stamp out the spirit of the Korean nation. After occupying Korea in a brigandish manner early in the 20th century the Japanese imperialists infused the idea of slavery into the Koreans in the ideological and moral field in a bid to assimilate them as Japanese. Learning that Koreans consider mountains as very important, deem famous mountains as sacred and they reflect their desire to see the emergence of outstanding men of intellect who would shoulder upon themselves the destiny of the country and the nation, the Japanese imperialists tried hard to stamp out the spirit of the nation by completely quelling it. That was why they hammered iron piles into the major heights of all mountain ranges in Korea starting from Mt. Paektu. Climbing high mountain ranges, they found out "vital parts and sections" and hammered iron piles into them. They poured boiling sulfur and placed even concrete around them so they might not be pulled out. As part of the campaign to prevent the emergence of talented Koreans by cutting off the mountain range, they divided them into two or three parts and blocked major passes with huge rocks. It is human ethics and morality and legal requirement and practice for those criminals to feel guilty and apologize for their wrongs, the article says, and goes on: However, Japan has neither admitted any of so many crimes committed in the past nor made any apology and reparation for them. The issue of the DPRK-Japan relations remains unsettled entirely because Japan has refused to settle its hideous crimes. Its liquidation of the past crimes constitutes a starting point and a master key to breaking with the inglorious history of the relations between the DPRK and Japan and mending them. |
