Cemetery of Fallen KPA Fighters Rebuilt in China

Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- A cemetery of fallen fighters of the Korean People's Army (KPA) was rebuilt in Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province, China. Buried there were remains of fallen fighters who fought against the U.S. imperialists and their allied forces. An inaugural ceremony took place on Nov. 5. Present there were members of the delegation for attending the inaugural ceremony headed by KPA Major General Ho Sang Ok, the DPRK consul general in Shenyang, officials concerned, a deputy commander of the air force of the Shenyang Military Area of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (CPLA) and officials of the General Political Department of the CPLA, the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Civil Affairs, Foreign Affairs Office of the Ministry of National Defense, the province and the city. A gun salute boomed and the national anthems of the DPRK and China were played. Wreaths were laid before the cemetery in the names of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, KPA Air and Anti-Air Force and the DPRK consulate general in Shenyang, in the joint name of the General Political Department of the CPLA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, in the joint name of the party, government and military area in the province and in the joint name of the party and government of the city. The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the martyrs. At the inaugural ceremony speakers said the armies and peoples of the DPRK and China waged a courageous struggle against the common enemies. They stressed the need to make positive efforts to boost the DPRK-China friendly relations by inheriting the will of the forerunners. Earlier, the members of the delegation laid wreaths before the monument to fallen fighters of the KPA in Benxi City, Liaoning Province and the cemetery of fallen fighters for resisting America and aiding Korea in Shenyang. |
