Right after the meeting the U.S. defense secretary asserted that the U.S. would have sustainable cooperation with its allies in Northeast Asia to boost missile defence capability.

Rodong Sinmun on Wednesday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

The above-said outbursts are a grave provocation as they will escalate the tension and spark a new arms race on the Korean Peninsula and in the rest of Northeast Asia.

The moves of the war-like forces at home and abroad concerning the establishment of the missile defence system are attributable to the fact that the U.S. and the Lee Myung Bak regime of south Korea have common interests.

It is the ulterior intention of the U.S. to prod the Lee regime in its waning days into tightening the military "alliance" with it at a lightning speed and turn south Korea into an outpost for realizing its strategy of attaching importance to Asia-Pacific.

The Lee group of traitors, colonial war servants of the U.S., is busy tightening its military nexus with the U.S. to do harm to compatriots by force of arms, frantically toeing the U.S. policy for world domination.

The DPRK will counter the above-said moves of the warmongers with war deterrent for self-defence as they are bringing the dark clouds of a war to hang over the country.

The U.S. and south Korean warmongers would be well advised to halt at once the moves to build a missile shield, acts of disturbing stability on the peninsula and the rest of Northeast Asia and sparking a new arms race and nuclear war.
