Rodong Sinmun Accuses U.S. and Japan of Military Tie-up
Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a bylined article denounces the U.S. and the Japanese authorities for their moves to tighten the alliance aimed at driving the situation in Northeast Asia to the brink of a war.

U.S. Secretary of Defence Panetta stressed the importance of the U.S.-Japan alliance during his recent visit to Japan. He said that the U.S. side would handle all the problems under the "U.S.-Japan security treaty".

The Japanese authorities also called for adhering to the "Japan-U.S. security treaty" for the "stability" in the Asia-Pacific region.

Citing facts to prove that the U.S.-Japan alliance has served as a military means for aggression on Asia under the 1951 "U.S.-Japan security treaty", the article goes on:

The U.S. and Japanese reactionaries seek to tighten the bilateral military alliance in a bid to use it in a war for aggression in Northeast Asia.

By tightening the military alliance for aggression the U.S. and Japan plan to create favorable conditions for the formation of the tripartite alliance among the U.S., Japan and south Korea.

What merits most serious attention in the U.S.-Japan military tie-up is that they are stepping up the expansion of the missile defence system.

The U.S. final purpose is to become the leader of the Asia-Pacific region. Japan's aim is to realize the old dream of the "greater east Asia co-prosperity sphere" backed by the U.S.

The U.S. and Japanese reactionaries should not push the situation to the worst phase, judging with cool head the serious consequences to be entailed by their dangerous military tie-up.
