Progress Made in Rehabilitation of Komdok Area
Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- Soldiers of the Korean People's Army have built houses for more than 1 000 families and rebuilt roads extending scores of kilometers in the flood-stricken Komdok area, South Hamgyong Province in a matter of just two months.

The dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un let soldiers and people work together to recover the Komdok area from severe damage.

Upon their arrival in the area after covering dozens of kilometers with forced march the soldiers started rehabilitation drive before taking off their field bags.

They cleared a massive amount of earth and dug the ground for building houses. They pushed forward water supply project and laying of walls of houses in a three dimensional way and introduced new construction methods, thereby increasing the speed of project.

Soldiers mobilized for the rehabilitation from the damage done to the Taehung Youth Hero Mine area stepped up digging of the ground for the construction of houses for hundreds of families, building of walls, inside and outside plastering and roofing.

They re-linked severely destroyed or cut roads and cleared millions of cubic meters of earth in a short span of time and laid felstone and rebuilt dozens of bridges together with builders.

They chopped off the brink of cliff, removing dangerous spots and also widened roads, reduced their inclination and straightened curves, thus laying roads extending scores of kilometers.

Other projects such as laying roads in surrounding areas and improving rivers and streams have also been pushed forward.

Soldiers paid attention to bringing the living of inhabitants to normal though they were busy with the project. When the houses were completed, they provided the inhabitants with things needed for living.

Members of shock brigades and their helpers are now spurring the rehabilitation project, determined to finish the remaining construction as early as possible in the revolutionary soldier spirit of the People's Army.
