The chairmanship went to Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee.

A statement was released at the ceremony.

It said Dec. 17 is the first anniversary of the passing of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il, adding his sudden demise was a great loss not only to the Koreans but to their friends and followers of Juche idea and Songun idea.

The committee will conduct activities for giving wide publicity to the revolutionary life of Kim Jong Il and his undying feats on the first anniversary of his demise, the statement said, adding:

The revolutionary cause of General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Jong Il is being successfully carried forward by the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un proclaimed the revolutionary ideas of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il as Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

The world progressives highly praise Kim Jong Il as an outstanding thinker and theoretician for performing immortal exploits by further developing in depth the great Juche idea.
