US Urged to Roll Back Its Hostile Policy toward DPRK
Pyongyang, November 12 (KCNA) -- It is a precondition and a basic way for the settlement of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula for the U.S. to roll back its hostile policy toward the DPRK, Rodong Sinmun Monday says in a bylined article.

It goes on:

The nuclear issue on the peninsula is a product of the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK. It is, therefore, possible to solve the nuclear issue only when the U.S. rolls back its hostile policy towards the DPRK.

The Korean Armistice Agreement should be replaced with a peace treaty, to begin with, in order to terminate the hostile relations between the DPRK and the U.S., solve the nuclear issue and, furthermore, achieve peace and stability in the peninsula and Northeast Asia.

In case a peace treaty is concluded between the DPRK and the U.S., both sides will feel no threat from each other, the hostile and belligerent relations between them will be eased and defused and a legal and institutional mechanism provided for durable peace on the peninsula. Then the nuclear issue on the peninsula will find a solution.

The key to doing so lies in the U.S. option to roll back its hostile policy to the DPRK.

The U.S. should show its will to make a switchover in its hostile policy towards the DPRK in practical actions, not with an empty talk.

If it is true that the U.S. has no hostile intent on the DPRK, there is neither reason nor pretext for it to fail to drastically change its hostile policy towards the DPRK. Otherwise, the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula will never find a solution.

The U.S. hostile policy should be dropped without condition, to begin with, as it is unjust and anachronistic.

The DPRK will never remain a passive onlooker to the continuous hostile actions of the U.S., but do everything possible to protect the destiny of the country and the nation.
