|
|
Pyongyang, November 12 (KCNA) -- The Unified Progressive Party, an opposition party of south Korea, held a press conference at the building of the "National Assembly" on Nov. 8 in protest against the prosecution authorities for their biased investigation. At the press conference speakers said that under the command of the Supreme Prosecutor's Office 13 local prosecutor's offices summoned and investigated at least 1,000 members of the Unified Progressive Party and citizens related to them and kicked off a whirlwind of suppression of them for seven months. But the course of investigation proved that the prosecution's charges are baseless, they noted. The reckless repressive actions against the opposition parties will certainly face a judgment by history, they warned, demanding the prosecution authorities stop at once the unreasonable crackdown. Meanwhile, the Kwangju City Committee of the Unified Progressive Party held a press conference at which it declared it would make all efforts to check the conservative forces' moves to stay in power. |
