Korean in US Praises Idea of "By Our Nation Itself"

Pyongyang, November 12 (KCNA) -- The Federation of Koreans in the U.S. posted on its Internet website on Nov. 8 an article entitled "The idea of 'By our nation itself' is invariable banner for development of north-south relations and national reunification" written by Kim Hyon Hwan, director of the Institute of Independent Ideology of Koreans in the U.S.

The article said that the idea of "By our nation itself" clarified in the June 15 joint declaration enjoys absolute support of all Koreans as it most correctly reflects the law-governed requirement for carving out the destiny of the nation and a main trend of the present times.

Chairman of the National Defence Commission Kim Jong Il, who worked heart and soul to realize the desire of President Kim Il Sung for national reunification, enunciated the idea of "By our nation itself" in reflection of the main spirit of the July 4 joint statement, it noted

This idea serves as a banner to be invariably held fast to for the development of inter-Korean relations and national reunification, it noted, adding:

It is the banner encouraging all Koreans to fully display bravery and spirit of the nation in the sacred struggle for achieving the historic cause of national reunification and carving out the destiny of the nation.

The article called on all Koreans to attach top priority to the idea of "By our nation itself" and fully support it and resolutely oppose and reject all attempts to stamp it out.
