The moves of the gentry of the "Saenuri Party" to mislead the public and win the people's mindset with the "presidential election" at hand are violence going against history and blatantly challenging the aspiration and desire of the south Korean people for progress and reform, the commentary notes, and goes on:

The "Saenuri Party" is a group of traitors which represents ultra-right conservatives and seeks confrontation between the north and the south and a war against the north. After it took office, the south Korean society has become more dependent on the U.S. and fascist dictatorship, north-south relations collapsed and the danger of war increased to the extremes. Inter-Korean relations went back to those in the era of confrontation before the publication of the June 15 joint declaration and a touch-and-go situation is prevailing on the Korean Peninsula.

The Koreans now face a critical issue of whether the north and the south join hands to achieve common prosperity in a peaceful and stable living environment or not.

The unanimous desire of the Koreans at home and abroad is the unity, cooperation and prosperity common to the nation, not confrontation between the north and the south.

Through the reality in which the June 15 era of reunification was ushered, the south Korean people deeply experienced before anyone else the validity and vitality of the north-south joint declarations. That is why they are working hard to judge at the "presidential election" the conservative group which refused to implement the joint declarations and increased the danger of war. It is quite natural that the people from all walks of life in south Korea are set to support the forces for progress and reform and open up the way of improving the inter-Korean relations and achieving the peace of the country and the prosperity common to the nation.

There is no doubt that in case the forces respecting the joint declarations and opting for implementing them take office in south Korea, dialogue and cooperation between the north and the south will gain vitality in all fields and a new phase of peace and national prosperity be opened.
