Present at the inaugural ceremony were officials and members of the Czechoslovak Communist Party, the Communist Party of Czech and Moravia, the Paektusan Czech-Korea Friendship Association and the Czech Group for the Study and Materialization of the Juche Idea.

Miroslav Stepan, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Czechoslovak Communist Party, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to hold such diverse events as remembrance meeting, seminar on feats of Kim Jong Il and photo exhibition on the occasion of the first anniversary of his demise.
