Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- Officials of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) and other agricultural workers from across the country on Wednesday planted trees in the arboretum of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il lie in state. Among them were officials of the Central Committee of UAWK and nearly 30 city (district) and county committees of UAWK in Pyongyang City, North Hwanghae, South Phyongan and North Phyongan provinces. They planted more than 2,000 trees of six species and rare flower roots and seeds of at least 10 species including dahlia. Officials of primary organizations of UAWK in Wonhung Farm of Anju City and Muchang Co-op Farm in Tokchon City of South Phyongan Province came here with many Korea larch and ginkgo trees and farmers of Ryongbuk Co-op Farm in Yomju County and Sinphyong County Township Co-op Farm of North Phyongan Province with young Pyongyang maple and pine-nut trees. They planted them in the arboretum with good care, prompted by their desire to face-lift the landscape of the supreme temple of the sun. |
