Rodong Sinmun Urges S. Korea to Draw Lesson from "Policy towards North"
Pyongyang, November 15 (KCNA) -- The politicians of the ruling and opposition parties in south Korea should draw a lesson from the failed "north policy" of the Lee Myung Bak regime. Rodong Sinmun Thursday urges this in a bylined article.

The "north policy" pursued by traitor Lee is a treacherous one as it blocks the improvement of the north-south relations, disturbs peace and increases the danger of war, the article says, and goes on:

Such confrontation policy as that of the Lee group should not be repeated by the next regime of south Korea. Because continued pursuance of the policy would mean continuity of north-south confrontation and escalation of war danger.

If another war breaks out on this land, the disaster to be entailed by it will be incomparable with that Koreans suffered during the last Korean War. Now is the time to take a right option for peace and stability.

It is the ardent desire of the Korean nation and an urgent requirement of the present times to repair the deteriorated inter-Korean relations as early as possible.

It is the consistent stand of the DPRK to improve the north-south relations and pave the way for peace and national prosperity through dialogue and cooperation, not through confrontation and war. If pro- reconciliation forces come to power and opt for the improvement of the inter-Korean relations in south Korea, it will be possible to comprehensively revitalize the suspended cooperation and exchange in all fields.

Shortly ago, the "Saenuri Party" made public commitments to diplomacy, security and unification policies. It is a replica of "no nukes, opening and 3,000 dollars," in essence, as it put main emphasis on settling the nuclear issue and "bolstering up deterrent against the north." In the final analysis, the "Saenuri Party" has failed to draw a lesson from the failed "north policy" of Lee Myung Bak. It is as clear as noonday that the "Saenuri Party" is following in footsteps of Lee, a confrontation maniac.

The south Korean people are calling for improved north-south relations, peace and stable life. An unconditional end should be put to the treacherous confrontation policy as it is going against the trend of the times and aspiration and wishes of all Koreans.

Those forces persistently pursuing confrontation with fellow countrymen quite contrary to the demand of the times will never be able to win support from the people but be unable to escape fiasco and disgrace in the end.
