Korean Women Delighted at National Meeting of Mothers
Pyongyang, November 15 (KCNA) -- Women of the DPRK are now very delighted at the news of the 4th National Meeting of Mothers.

More than 50 years have passed since the National Meeting of Mothers was held for the first time in the country.

Showing his deep interest in the women's role in socialist construction, President Kim Il Sung convened a national meeting of mothers in November Juche 50 (1961). At the meeting he made a speech entitled "The Duty of Mothers in the Education of Children", which has served as guidelines for the mothers to adhere to in upbringing and educating their children.

Leader Kim Jong Il carried forward the President's policy of respect for women and saw to it that national meetings of mothers were held in September 1998 and November 2005. The meetings were attended by mothers who gave birth to many children, looked after orphans like their children and made a big contribution to the prosperity of the country, true to the Songun politics of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Paek Chun Yong, a staff of the C.C., Democratic Women's Union of Korea, told KCNA that the current meeting would display the mothers' steadfast will to discharge their mission and duty in hastening the final victory of powerful and prosperous Korea, closely rallied around respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.
