Devoted Efforts Made by Kim Jong Suk for Future of Korea
Pyongyang, November 15 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Suk (Dec. 1917-Sept. 1949), an anti-Japanese war hero, was a great mother who devoted all her life to the future of Korea.

She had always taken warm care of children in the days of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. In the period she worked as an instructor of the Anti-Japanese Children's Union and then as a member of the guerrilla army.

After the liberation of the country from the Japanese colonial rule, she worked heart and soul to train the rising generations to be pillars for building a prosperous country. She visited Mangyongdae Revolutionary School for scores of times from December 1947 to September 1949 to take care of children of revolutionary martyrs.

In her lifetime Kim Jong Suk did all she could do to bring up her son, Kim Jong Il, as heir to President Kim Il Sung's cause. She made him always follow the President in the journey of field guidance to learn from the noble personality of the father who devoted his all to the people.

She taught her son many things like horse riding and shooting and carefully trained him to be a man of pluck and justice. She also educated him to be a true revolutionary faithfully serving the popular masses, possessed of such virtues as simplicity and modesty.
