Mother Day Marked in DPRK

Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- The Korean people significantly marked the Mother Day. Mothers across the country visited the statues of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang and other parts of the country and the portraits of the smiling leaders there and paid floral tribute to them. Dancing parties of officials and members of the women's union took place in plazas of the capital city. They included those of the Party Founding Memorial Tower, Tower of the Juche Idea, Arch of Triumph and Jonsung Square. The women cheerfully danced, full of optimism and joy. Women watched a light comedy "Love" and feature films "Happiness of Mother", "Wheel of Happiness," etc. at theatres and cinemas in the city. Catering networks were busy serving mothers and other women on the day. Colorful events also took place in each provincial capital, city and county seat of the country to mark the day. There took place congratulatory art performances, meetings and other events. Mothers and other women spent pleasant time at parks and recreation grounds. |
