Candlelight Actions Staged for Political Rights in S. Korea

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- The People's Action for Suffrage of south Korea made up of at least 200 civic and public organizations held a candlelight rally at the plaza of the Seoul City Office on Nov. 17 in demand of the guarantee of their political rights.

The speakers at the rally deplored that the "National Assembly" has not shown any response to the written petition carrying the signatures of 150 000 citizens demanding the extension of the voting time, though it had been submitted to it.

They held that a law on extending the voting time should be instituted as early as possible so that the election day may be declared a holiday and everyone may go to polls.
