Chinese Newspaper on Hot Wind of Sports in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- The Chinese newspaper International Pioneer Guide (Nov. 16-22) carried an article written by its correspondent in Pyongyang saying the DPRK is attaching importance to turning itself into a sports power.

It carried the news that the dear respected Kim Jong Un has paid deep concern for the sports development of the country while energetically leading the work in the field.

The DPRK has recently taken fresh measures in the sports field, the paper said, and went on:

The State Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission was established in the DPRK to control the overall sports work of the country in a unified manner and make the hot wind of sports sweep across the country.

The DPRK has a solid system for training reserve sports players.

There are juvenile sports schools in different parts of the country.

Those schools in close relations with all the primary and secondary schools of the country choose excellent future sports players and work out training plans specific to the ages and psychological peculiarities of children.

The Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the DPRK government put forward the sports-persons who glorified the country in big international games including the world championships and Olympic Games as heroes and show largesse for them.

Hot wind of sports rages among working people and school youth and children true to the plan of the WPK to build a sports power. A lot of people enjoy roller-skating in the newly built Skate Park, Kim Il Sung Square, plaza of Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and other places.

Introducing the Rungna People's Pleasure Park, the paper said that Kim Jong Un learned in detail several times about the construction of the park and personally took part in its opening ceremony.

It is the best park in the DPRK, it added.
