The joint chiefs of staff of south Korea announced that the marine corps would stage a drill for commanding staff and combat exercise on the island on Nov. 23.

Timed to coincide with this, the south Korean authorities are mulling holding a memorial service, commemoration and a ceremony of unveiling a monument to the dead on the island.

The warmongers, failing to draw a lesson from a bitter defeat after preempting shelling at the inalienable territorial waters of the DPRK, are making desperate efforts to seize this as an occasion of igniting a war against the north.
