Jacobsen, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party in Denmark, and Anders Kristensen, chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, were elected chairmen of the Danish committee and Dag Norum, chairman of the Ostfold County Committee of the Communist Party of Norway, was elected chairman of the Norwegian committee.

The remembrance committees decided to hold events and launch media activities to widely introduce the undying feats of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the first anniversary of his demise.
