Korean Book, Photo and Fine Art Exhibition Held in Russia

Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- Korean book, photo and fine art exhibitions opened with due ceremonies at Modern Art Museum in Birobidzhan, Russia and Culture and History Museum in Krasnoyarsk on November 13. Displayed there were photos showing leader Kim Jong Il's historic visit to Russia. Also exhibited there were works of Kim Jong Il, books and photos introducing Songun Korea and fine art pieces associated with wisdom and talents of the Korean people. Present at the ceremonies were public figures of all social standings and masses. Invited there were officials of the DPRK mission. The deputy prime minister of the Jewish autonomous regional government said in his speech that the exhibition helps citizens in Birobidzhan look back upon again the undying feats of Kim Jong Il who made a contribution to the development of the friendly and cooperative relations between Russia and DPRK. Kim Jong Il's visit to the Siberian and Far Eastern regions last year was a historic one that put the relations between the two countries on a new higher stage, the deputy prime minister added. The deputy mayor of Krasnoyarsk said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's visit to the Far Eastern Region of Russia and the 1st anniversary of the Siberian and Far Eastern regions. It is of great significance for the development of the friendly relations between Russia and the DPRK to hold the exhibition again this year, he added. He said that the exhibition will help citizens of Krasnoyarsk know better about the history and culture of Korea, a fraternal country. |
