Committees for Remembering Kim Jong Il Inaugurated Abroad
Pyongyang, November 27 (KCNA) -- The committees for remembering leader Kim Jong Il were formed in Syria, Romania, Thailand and Italy on November 20 and 21.

Chairpersons elected at the inaugural ceremonies of the committees were Saaeed Eleia Dawood, chairman of the Syrian Arab-Korea Friendship Association and director of the Organizational Department of the Regional Leadership of the Syria Baath Arab Socialist Party, Constantin Rotaru, chairman of the Romanian Socialist Union, and Songchit Pullarp, chairman of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand.

The general secretary of the Movement for Peace and Socialism of Italy and the president of the Group of Dialectical Materialists of Italy were elected co-chairpersons of the Italian remembrance committee.

The remembrance committees decided to hold various events including seminar on feats, remembrance meeting and film show on the occasion of the first anniversary of the demise of Kim Jong Il.

The chairman of the Romanian Socialist Union in a speech at the ceremony said the demise of Kim Jong Il was the biggest loss not only to the Korean people but to the world progressive people.

It is our due obligation and duty to form a committee for remembering him on the occasion of the first anniversary of his demise, the chairman added.
