At the inaugural ceremonies Jesus Antonio Carlos Hernandez, general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico, Sh. Shabdolov, chairman of the Communist Party of Tajikistan, and the chairman of the Kampala City Committee of the Uganda National Resistance Movement were elected chairmen of the remembrance committees.

The remembrance committees decided to hold colorful political and cultural events including remembrance meeting, lecture and seminar on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the demise of Kim Jong Il.
