Open-air Ice Rink in Pyongyang Crowded with Visitors

Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- The People's Open-air Ice Rink, recently built on the bank of the Taedong River in Pyongyang, is daily crowded with visitors who want to practice skating technique. Han Hyon Il, a student of Kim Chaek University of Technology, told KCNA that he was very pleased to enjoy skating in this fantastic ice rink. Many people, including boys, girls and even aged persons, come here to do speed and figure skating. Assistants and parents teach kids or their children how to glide on the ice. An assistant said that children aged 4-5 make a rapid progress in learning how to skate, some of them drawing attention of experts. According to Pak Jong Man, chief engineer of the Ice Rink, more than 10 000 people visited it in the last 10 odd days. |
