The song "Song of Women" composed by him right after the liberation of Korea contributed to arousing the women across the country to the building of a new country.

During the days of the hard-fought war he fought alongside soldiers on heights in flames to wipe out enemies. Those days he created such militant and revolutionary songs as "To a Decisive Battle" and "My Song in the Trench," encouraging the army and the people to win a victory in the war.
