It decided to set up "Takeshima issue preparation team" allegedly to "prove" Japan's "dominium over Tok Islets".

This proves that the Japanese reactionaries' moves to make Japan's "dominium over Tok Islets" an established fact have entered the phase of undisguised implementation.

Japan's territorial claim to Tok Islets is an intolerable encroachment upon the sovereignty of the Korean nation including its territorial sovereignty.

Nations which exercise sovereignty over the relevant territory have the right to name geographical places in it.

Tok Islets are neither part of new continent nor a virgin land whose names were given at will by explorers. They are part of the inviolable territory of Korea which was explored by the ancestors of Korea and over which the Korean nation's sovereignty has been exercised.

Japan has no right to encroach upon even a small rock, to say nothing of a mountain on Korea's territory and, moreover, no justification to give them names.

To look back upon the past, Japan's overseas aggression started from the distortion and extortion of names.

Japan changed the name of Tok Islets into "Takeshima", Japanese name, and has carried on invasion of them. In February 1905, it published a "decree" on putting the islets under the jurisdiction of Shimane Prefecture. In November the same year, it fabricated the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" and reduced Korea into its colony.

In the subsequent period, Japan changed not only the name of the country of Korea but forced the Koreans to change their names into Japanese ones.

The moves to change names of a mountain on Tok Islets are reminding us of the past moves for aggression of Korea committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past.

Japan is calling the East Sea of Korea "Japan Sea" at its will. It even illegally infiltrated gunship of the "Self-Defense Forces" into the sky above the islets. This indicates that Japan leaves no means untried to seize the islets.

It is the scenario of the Japanese reactionaries to name a mountain on the islets by Japanese way today but continue to call other parts of Korea and Asia by Japanese names and thus stretch its tentacles of reinvasion deep into Korea.

The situation proves that the Japanese reactionaries' moves for reinvasion have entered the dangerous phase of implementation after going beyond that of distorting geographical names and tampering with history.

Japan should not forget the history of its inglorious defeat.

The militarist aggressors can never be able to avoid the fate of forlorn wandering spirit as they whet the sword of reinvasion, being preoccupied with the ambition for grabbing other's territory.
