Pyongyang, December 4 (KCNA) -- The Branch Academy of Fishery in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has recently succeeded in applying sea-photosynthetic bacterium to controlling water quality, whereby water quality is controlled without exchange of water. The sea-photosynthetic bacterium is highly effective in purifying water as it is a microorganism with unusual physiological function. The method can increase the survival rate of cultivated fish 2.5 times without using antibiotic substances to prevent epidemic. With the separation of the bacterium from the water in the East Sea of Korea, a step forward was made in cultivating fish. The method has been applied to many fish farms. |
