S. Korea's Co-sponsorship of "Resolution on Human Rights in North Korea" under Fire

Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, the south Korean authorities cosponsored the "Resolution on Human Rights in North Korea" proposed by such forces hostile to the DPRK as the U.S. and the Japanese reactionaries at the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly. Minju Joson Sunday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard: The UN "resolution" is a product of the conspiratorial plot hatched by the hostile forces to do harm to the DPRK. There can be no such "human rights issue" in the DPRK where the policy of believing in people as in Heaven is enforced, guided by the great Juche idea. This is unanimously recognized by any visitor to the DPRK. Only those who have not been to the country are seeking to do harm to the country with lies and fabrications but such trick can never work. South Korea has turned into the worst tundra of human rights in the world. That was why the UN recently adopted again a resolution urging the south Korean regime to repeal the "Security Law". It is brazen-faced for the Lee Myung Bak group to dare talk about "human rights" in the DPRK though it has ruthlessly violated even the right of the south Korean people to existence, far from guaranteeing them democratic freedom and rights. It is the ulterior intention of the group to cover up its criminal act of turning south Korea into a tundra of human rights by misleading the public opinion and, at the same time, tarnish the daily rising international prestige of the DPRK, justify its moves to escalate the confrontation and realize international cooperation in the anti-DPRK campaign. |
