The president of the Khmer Democratic Party said:

Generalissimo Kim Jong Il was a great statesman who developed in depth the Juche idea founded by Generalissimo Kim Il Sung.

He laid down the principle of Songun that the army precisely means the party, state and people and wisely led the DPRK.

Under his leadership the Korean people have made great progress in their drive to build a rich and powerful nation and reunify the country.

The friendly relations between Cambodia and the DPRK grew stronger under his care.

Though he passed away, his exploits will always be remembered by the peoples of the two countries.

I wish the Workers' Party of Korea, state, army and people of the DPRK greater successes under the leadership of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The manager of the newspaper Kmae Amata said the DPRK is blessed with the great leaders, and went on:

The Cambodian people will always remember the disinterested support and encouragement rendered by Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il to Great King Norodom Sihanouk and Cambodia for decades.
