Minju Joson Lays Bare Danger of Close U.S.-Japan Military Tie-ups
|

Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- The U.S.-Japan joint military drills were held in the waters off Okinawa of Japan between Nov. 5 and 16. What merits serious attention is that the U.S. made public to the press photos of 26 warships including aircraft carrier "George Washington" in the middle of formation exercise even though it kept the media away from the drilling ground. Minju Joson Tuesday says in a bylined commentary in this regard: The U.S. made public photos of its aircraft carrier flotilla sailing together with warships of the Japan "Self-Defence Forces". This is aimed to give China psychological pressure and make its policy of containing China prove effective. The U.S., which dreams seizing unchallenged hegemony in the Asia-Pacific region, is regarding the steps taken by China for boosting its military capabilities and defending its interests as a violation of the strategic interests of the U.S. Therefore, it has strengthened the military alliance with Japan and worked hard to demonstrate its might. The joint military action between the U.S. and Japan hints at blockading China through the joint striking armed forces in case China comes out to challenge their strategic interests. The tightened U.S.-Japan military tie-ups are a dangerous act of wrecking peace and stability and escalating military tension in the Asia-Pacific region. The U.S. opened a prelude to the cold war in Europe in line with its strategy of attaching importance to Europe after the Second World War. Its present strategy is to attach importance to the Asia-Pacific region and bring about the second cold war in Asia. The U.S. is sadly mistaken if it thinks it can solve everything through military confrontation and showdown of strength. |
