Present at the meeting were senior officials of the party, state and army, officials of party, armed forces and power bodies, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, merited scientists and technicians and officers and men of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces. Officials and working people of institutions, factories and enterprises at all levels and co-operative farms and teachers and students of universities and colleges in Pyongyang also attended.

A report was made at the rally to be followed by speeches of representatives of people of different social standings.

They said that the satellite which was manufactured by the DPRK with its own technology and efforts was accurately put into its orbit in line with the government's policy for space development and its peaceful use, adding that this is a gift of loyalty presented to leader Kim Jong Il by the party, army and people of the DPRK.

The DPRK has a firm hold on a key to conquering the space which represents the combination of ultra-modern science and technology, they said, stressing that it is a precious fruition of the brilliant far-sightedness and outstanding leadership provided by the peerlessly great men.

The scientists and technicians who put the country's technology for the peaceful use of space on a new, higher stage and demonstrated the inexhaustible might of Songun Korea are genuine patriots and treasures in building a thriving nation, they said.

No force on earth can check the independent decision of Songun Korea based on the powerful military guarantee, they stressed.

The army and people of the DPRK who are dynamically advancing toward the just cause after possessing nuclear deterrent, carrier rocket and working satellite will build a powerful and prosperous socialist country in reunified land in the foreseeable future, they added.

They pledged to become heroes who devotedly carry out the leader's instructions and perform feats in building a thriving nation in the same spirit with which scientists and technicians successfully launched the satellite.
