Pyongyang Pleased at News of Successful Satellite Lift-off

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The news of the successful launch of the second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 made the whole capital city seethe with a wave of jubilation. At a time when diverse events are taking place to celebrate it, the Military Band of the Korean People's Army (KPA) made a march from Kim Il Sung Square to the Arch of Triumph on Friday, playing revolutionary and militant music. A festive atmosphere picked up when the band presented its ceremony and concert in the plaza of the April 25 House of Culture. There were performances by song and dance ensembles of the air and anti-air force and the Navy of the KPA in the plaza on the same day. Put on the stage were diverse numbers including mixed quartette and chorus "Glory to Our Great Party", female trio and pangchang "Yearning Is Boundless" and female solo "Our Leader Beloved by People." The performers impressively represented the boundless reverence of the service personnel and people of the DPRK for the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who brought about such spectacular victory as successfully decorating this significant year which marked the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung. National art troupes gave their performances in various parts of the city, pleasing citizens. Artistes of the Phibada Opera Troupe presented songs and dances in front of the Pyongyang Grand Theatre. Dances turning round decorative tassels to the tune of merry peasant music and cheerful melody of jangsaenap added to the festive atmosphere. Mixed vocal trio "My Great Country" made the audience look back with deep emotion on the undying exploits the peerlessly great men performed by making tireless efforts to bring about this great event. The performance given by the National Folk Art Troupe in front of the Taedongmun Cinema House added to the jubilation of citizens excited at the news of successful satellite launch. Cheerful dancing parties of youth and students took place in different places of the city that day. |
