In the period the Korean people, under the guidance of the dear respected Kim Jong Un, have made enormous achievements in their efforts to carry into practice the behests of Kim Jong Il, who devoted all his life to the prosperity of the country and the people's wellbeing.

First of all, Changjon Street was fashionably built in the heart of Pyongyang City, the construction of which was initiated by Kim Jong Il in his lifetime. In the street there is the People's Theatre, with a floor space of 11 500 square meters, covering an area of 50 000 square meters. The theatre with two stories underground and six stories above was named by Kim Jong Il. An art performance was given by the Unhasu Orchestra at the theatre on the occasion of the centenary birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Rungna Islet in the Taedong River in Pyongyang turned into as a pleasure park furnished with dolphinarium, wading pool, funfair and mini-golf course.

Built on the bank of the river were the Ryugyong Health Complex, the People's Open-air Ice Rink and Skate Park.

In the run-up to the Day of the Sun (April 15), the President's birthday, the Huichon Power Station started its operation. Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the station under construction for eight times from March Juche 98 (2009).

The Breast Tumor Institute was set up at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Pyongyang Folklore Park which features Korea's 5 000 year-long history has sprung up at the foot of Mt. Taesong in Pyongyang.

The Pyongyang Vegetable Science Institute, Pyongyang Floriculture Institute and Taedonggang Building-materials Factory have made their appearances and the second-phase expansion project of the Taedonggang Tile Factory was finished. Also the Taekwon-Do Holy Center took its shape in Chongchun Street, Pyongyang.

Servicepersons renewed Mangyongdae and Taesongsan amusement parks and improved Hapjang and Pothong rivers in response to the orders of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un.

A trade port was modernly built in Tanchon area of South Hamgyong Province.

The Mirae Shop, exclusively for scientists, was opened. In his lifetime Kim Jong Il took a measure for merited scientists and technicians to use this shop.

Besides, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education was renovated and a new building was built at Koryo Songgyungwan University in Kaesong City.

Those edifices built by the Korean people in those days also include Taedonggang Swellfish Factory, Hwangnam Youth Saltern, Pyongyang Taegyong Laver Processing Factory and Kyongam Cement Factory.

The Musan Mining Complex had cone-type crushing plant No. 2 built on a fresh basis.

A seafood shop and a soft drink restaurant were fashionably built on the bank of the Pothong River.

New workshops were set up at the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Processing Factory, Pyongyang Tobacco Paper Factory and the Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory.

The second-phase project for the reclamation of Kwaksan Tideland and the project for interior network of the Taegyedo Reclaimed Tideland were completed and high-temperature air-combustion heating furnace and reactive power compensation device were introduced to hot rolling process of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex. The Nampho-Pyongyang seawater pipeline was successfully laid.

Many dwelling houses and welfare service bases were also built throughout the country.

Those signal achievements are indicative of the Korean people's loyalty to leader Kim Jong Il and their will to remain true to Marshal Kim Jong Un's intention.
