Events for Remembering Kim Jong Il Held Abroad
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- Events for remembering leader Kim Jong Il took place in different countries on the occasion of the first anniversary of his demise.

They included a meeting in Austria, a lecture in Romania and remembrance meeting and book and photo exhibition in Brazil from Nov. 23 to 27.

Displayed in the venues of the events were photos of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Also exhibited there were works of the peerless great men and books and photos introducing the achievements made by the Korean people in building a thriving nation.

Oliver Jonischkeit, secretary of the Left Bloc of the Austrian Trade Union Federation, in a speech said that the history of modern Korea is unthinkable without the great revolutionary careers of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who founded the Juche idea and developed it in depth.

Kim Il Sung's history of devotion was given a steady continuity by Kim Jong Il, the secretary noted, adding Kim Jong Il passed away on a running train for field guidance.

Daniel Dediu, chairman of the Romanian Workers' Association, said that the feats performed by Kim Jong Il in accomplishing the popular masses' cause of independence will remain long century after century.

His demise was the greatest loss to the oppressed toiling masses of the world, the chairman stressed.

The chairman of the Brasilia Federal District Committee of the Brazilian Communist Party praised Kim Jong Il as a great man who performed really great feats.

One of his great exploits was that he turned the DPRK into an impregnable fortress which no power dares provoke, with his Songun politics, the chairman said, noting tragic incidents in different countries clearly prove how far-sighted and just Kim Jong Il was when he pursued the Songun politics.
