The June 15 era of reunification opened by leader Kim Jong Il gave Korean youth and students in Japan new hope, conviction of national reunification and belief that they can take upon themselves the future of the nation, the statement said.

But the trend of the June 15 era has been arrested and the danger of a nuclear war created on the Korean Peninsula by the U.S. and the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors, it said.

The south Korean group created antagonism and contradiction among Koreans in Japan and worked hard to obliterate national education, the lifeline for giving a steady continuity to the soul and spirit of the nation, it noted.

National reunification is an ardent desire of all the Korean youth and students in Japan, and the bright future of youth lies in preserving and implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, it said.

The Korean youth and students in Japan will achieve firm unity and alliance with youth and students in the north and the south and abroad and struggle to shatter the intervention of foreign forces and the moves of the anti-reunification forces and bring again the June 15 era of reunification, it declared.
