Floral Baskets Laid before Statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il

Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- Service personnel, people of various social circles, youth and schoolchildren across the DPRK laid floral baskets before statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and their smiling portraits in the residential areas on Monday, the first anniversary of demise of Kim Jong Il. Seen before the statues of the peerlessly great men on Mansu Hill was a floral basket sent by Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the KPA. Floral baskets in the name of the party, armed forces and power organs, social organizations, ministries, national institutions, units of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, institutions and industrial establishments at all levels, co-operative farms, schools, etc. in Pyongyang and bouquets and flowers were placed before the statues. Floral baskets were laid before them by members of the delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross operational in the DPRK and in the name of officials in charge of cultural and friendly relations of foreign embassies here. Delegations of overseas Koreans, individual Koreans and foreigners also laid floral baskets and bouquets before the statues. Floral baskets in the name of institutions, organizations, families, etc., and bouquets and flowers were also laid before the statues of the great men of Mt. Paektu and their smiling portraits in various places in Pyongyang including Kim Il Sung Military University, Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, Mansudae Art Studio and Kim Il Sung Square. Lots of people in other parts of the country also visited the statues and portraits in their provincial seats to pay respects. |
