Constantin Rotaru, chairman of the Romanian Socialist Union, in his statement on Dec. 14 said the successful satellite launch serves as a clear proof that the science and technology of the DPRK has reached a high level.

I am greatly pleased with the successful satellite launch made by scientists and technicians of the DPRK under the leadership of HE Kim Jong Un, he added.

Rosanita Campos, vice-president of the Party for Free Motherland of Brazil, in a statement on the same day said the satellite launch in the DPRK was fulfillment of one of the last instructions of leader Kim Jong Il and a work done for peaceful purposes, pursuant to the program for the development of science and technology aimed at the economic construction and the improvement of people's living standard.

On the same day a vice-chairman of the Committee for External Affairs of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party said the satellite launch constitutes a success made by the DPRK in its work for developing space and victory of the Workers' Party of Korea in its policy of attaching importance to science and technology.

The DPRK once again demonstrated its tremendous national power by succeeding in satellite launch despite the persistent sanctions of the West to stifle its socialism, the vice-chairman added.

Jesus Antonio Carlos Hernandez, general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico, on Dec. 13 warmly hailed the DPRK's successful satellite launch for peaceful purposes as a great achievement of progressive humankind. He rapped the vicious moves of the Western countries against it.
