Kim Jong Il Remembered in Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Remembrance meetings took place in Romania, Ukraine and Bulgaria on Dec. 8 and 10 to mark the first anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

Present there were personages of the committees for remembering Kim Jong Il, groups for the study of the Juche idea and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and other personages of different social standings and masses in relevant countries.

The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of him.

Daniel Dediu, chairman of the Romanian Workers' Association who is vice-chairman of the Romanian remembrance committee, said that Kim Jong Il was the great father of the Korean people as he devoted his all to them in his lifetime, adding that his demise was a great loss and sorrow not only for the Korean people but for the Romanian people.

Nikolai Polishk, chairman of the Ukrainian "Treasured Sword of Songun" Association for the Study of the Juche Idea who is chairman of the Ukrainian remembrance committee, noted that Kim Jong Il formed a harmonious whole of the leader, the party and masses, thus building an invincible power which the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces dare not provoke.

Chabdar Stoimenov, president of the Central Council of the Bulgarian Anti-Fascist Union who is chairman of the Bulgarian remembrance committee, said that though Kim Jong Il passed away, he is always alive in the hearts of not only the Korean people but the world progressives as he performed great exploits for them.

A message to the dear respected Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting in Bulgaria.
