Earlier, a U.S. munitions enterprise carried out the first test flight for the missile interception system now under development to replace Patriot at the White Sands missile test ground in New Mexico.

The U.S. authorities claim the tests are aimed to maintain the performance of nuclear weapons and their security and to "defend' itself from "threats" from the DPRK.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a bylined commentary says in this regard:

Threats come from the U.S. and the tests are aimed to develop modern arms and equipment including nuclear weapons.

In the early days of its office the present U.S. administration called for "building a world without nuclear weapons" but behind the scenes it has spurred the development of new type nuclear weapons.

The aim sought by the U.S. warmongers in conducting nuclear tests for the development of new type weapons is to contain those countries incurring its displeasure with an unchallenged nuclear edge and hold military hegemony.

Due to the U.S. reckless moves for modernizing and beefing up nuclear weapons, lots of countries have been exposed to nuclear threats and fierce arms race has been triggered off worldwide.

The situation clearly proves once again that the U.S. is the main architect of nuclear threats and arms race in the world and an arch criminal harassing global peace and stability.

It is quite natural for the international community to denounce the U.S. as the mastermind of aggression and war and the chief culprit escalating tensions.
