The event is a significant one as it reflects the high intention of the Workers' Party of Korea hoping that officials would make devote themselves to building a thriving nation, healthy and strong.

It brought together more than 500 officials from many institutions including the State Planning Commission, the Education Commission, ministries of Metal Industry, Coal Industry and Mining Industry and Taesong and Unha Guidance Bureaus.

Divided into 4 groups, they will compete in knockout team and individual events.

In the team events, leading party and administrative officials will participate in singles, vice chiefs in doubles and department directors and office heads in singles.

In individual events, singles of leading officials and doubles of vice chiefs will be held.

Semifinals and finals are due in January next year.
