Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- After the Democratic People's Republic of Korea successfully launched satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2, world public have suggested that the United States opt for dialogue, instead of sanctions or confrontation against the DPRK. U.S. experts on Korean affairs insist that the administration should handle the issue of turning the armistice system on the Korean Peninsula into a peace one. They say that the launch had made the second-term Obama administration discard the policy towards the DPRK and that it should rewrite the policy. They also recommend the U.S. administration to seek dialogue with Pyongyang, instead of another sanction it is pressing ahead with at the United Nations. Toloraya, a Russian expert on international affairs, said that another sanction might spark off unpredictable response from the DPRK. China Daily said that discretion and restraints are instrumental to tiding over the present crisis on the Korean Peninsula. The parties interested in peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula should be mindful that excessive reaction or undue actions would only aggravate conflict and harass peace and stablility, it warned. A roving ambassador of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in an interview with Interfax, called on all parties concerned to refrain from taking any action that may aggravate the situation. He said that the six-party talks are the most effective way for solving the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula and creating favourable atmosphere in the region. Meanwhile, Japan's Kyodo News said the message given by the launch is that the parties concerned should approach the DPRK as it is, not in the way of what they wanted. |
